Improving The Donor Relations Experience

For nearly 100 years, Red Arrow Camp (RAC) has offered a once-in-a-lifetime summer experience for boys ages 7 to 16. RAC delivers the fun and camaraderie of a traditional summer camp, the adventure and thrill of a tripping camp and the skill-development and challenge of a sports camp for youth.

THE CHALLENGE: AN OUTDATED DONOR PLATFORM

For years, Red Arrow Camp used an outdated donor platform that prevented staff from adequately tracking alumni and family donations. Camp administrators identified two basic requirements as they shopped their options for a prospective software upgrade: Ease of use and a streamlined system. The goal of the new platform would be to accurately and efficiently manage alumni, parent, donor, and mailing campaign recipients.

THE PROCESS: A SEAMLESS MIGRATION & CUSTOMIZATION

After receiving the Salesforce platform through the Salesforce Foundation, Red Arrow Camp leadership sought out an experienced implementation provider and found the right fit in Canpango. Over the course of three months, Canpango donated the resources needed to seamlessly migrate all donor data from the existing outdated software to Salesforce, and customized several elements of the CRM to improve donor tracking and alumni base management.

Red Arrow Camp received a stronger, more streamlined system to track campers and donors, as well as manage donations. Through their new model, they’ve been able to achieve greater fundraising success due to the ability to manage conversations with their giving pool and keep track of alumni when they reach an age at which they can give back.
